Counting apprenticeship completions

Apprenticeship is a proven strategy for preparing a diverse array of people to succeed in the workforce. Accordingly, many states are turning to apprenticeships to prepare a skilled workforce. In order to understand whether they are succeeding, states must collect data about apprenticeships. This webinar will discuss how Iowa and Washington collect data about participants in apprenticeship programs, and how they use that data to better understand how many people are earning apprenticeship certificates, how apprenticeship completers are faring in the labor market, and how to ensure more equitable skill attainment. It will also feature a discussion from the U.S Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship about its apprenticeship database, and how states can access their data.

Panelists:
  • Greg Wilson, Lead Program Analyst, Office of Apprenticeship, Employment and Training Administration
  • Dave Wallace, Research Director, Washington Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board
