2014 State Workforce Policy Round Up
On June 5, NSC State Policy Team hosted this webinar about new workforce policies enacted in 2014 legislative sessions in more than a dozen states! State legislatures have acted to advance workforce development with new initiatives for adult basic education, postsecondary financial aid, help for the long-term unemployed and better data and information systems. We hope to bring greater attention to these efforts and provide an opportunity for advocates, practitioners, and other stakeholders to learn effective approaches from other states to address the skills gap.
This webinar highlights policies championed in 2014 legislative sessions and includes perspectives from several experts discussing both challenges and opportunities to advance policies that will address the skills gap.
We dig deeper into legislative victories with experts from three states to share lessons learned that can help advocates address skill gaps in their states.
