National Skills Coalition, in partnership with Atlanta CareerRise, Georgia Budget and Policy Institute, and Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, will host a cross-state convening to discuss advancing skills policies in southern states.
This invitation-only meeting will convene policy and research organizations, community college leaders, funder collaboratives, business associations, workforce practitioners, and philanthropic partners leading workforce development efforts in southern states, as well as national organizations working in the south. The convening is made possible through the generous financial support of JPMorgan Chase & Co., The Annie E. Casey Foundation, and W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Travel logistics and stipend policy
Transportation Options to/from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport:
The Westin Peachtree Plaza is located one block away from the MARTA line at the Peachtree Center Station. The Peachtree Center Station is serviced by both the Red and Gold MARTA lines, which can be accessed from the airport. The fee is $2.50 and travel time is about 20 minutes.
A taxi from the airport to the hotel can be acquired for a flat fee of $30 for one passenger, with an additional $2 for an additional passenger. The travel time via taxi is about 20 minutes or more, depending on traffic.
SuperShuttle Atlanta can be used for $16.50 one way or $29 round trip per person. Advanced reservations are recommended and can be made at (800) 258-3826 or www.supershuttle.com.
Travel Policy and Stipend:
Each participant is eligible to receive up to a total of $200 in reimbursements for the following authorized travel expenses:
- Air/Train Travel: Fare must be the lowest available coach/economy class. A receipt is required.
- Taxi, Shuttles, and Mileage for ground transportation to and from the airport/hotel.
- Ground Transportation is limited to standard taxi or shuttle service costs. Town car or limo services are excluded. A receipt is required.
- For those driving to the meeting, mileage will be reimbursed at the current GSA rate, which is currently 53.5¢ per mile.
In order to be reimbursed, attendees must complete and submit a travel expense reimbursement request form with receipts for all expenses by Friday, May 19, 2017.
