Brooke DeRenzis leads National Skills Coalition’s efforts to advance skills policies at the state level. Brooke oversees the development of NSC’s state policy agenda and works with NSC’s network of state coalitions and partners to provide strategic guidance for policy development, advocacy, advancement, and implementation. Brooke joined NSC in 2014.
Before then, Brooke was Project Director at DC Appleseed Center for Law and Justice where she led advocacy efforts on a range of public policy issues facing the District of Columbia, including workforce development and postsecondary education. Prior to the DC Appleseed Center, she held research positions with the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution.
Brooke holds a master’s in Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s from Sarah Lawrence College. She is based in Washington, DC.
