NSC seeks new Senior Policy Analyst.

NSC is seeking a Senior Policy Analyst, based in our Washington, DC headquarters. The Senior Policy Analyst will report to NSC’s Federal Policy Director to help maintain our expertise in a number of policy areas related to workforce education and training, and to assist with the Alliance’s efforts to improve those policies within federal legislation, agency regulation and related funding initiatives. The Senior Policy Analyst will also work with Field staff to involve NSC’s various stakeholders in federal advocacy efforts, and to support similar policy goals at the state and local levels.

General responsibilities will include: in-depth analyses of policy proposals; timely alerts on policy debates; provision of technical policy expertise to congressional offices and NSC members; establishing contacts within federal agencies; and working with allied national organizations.

Strong candidates will possess: five or more years experience in analysis of federal or state policies; some experience engaging Congress, federal agencies, or state legislatures; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and an ability to work with NSC’s diverse member base.
