3000 orgs to Congress: "No more NDD cuts!"

July 16, 2012

On July 12, the nondefense discretionary (NDD) community—made up of national, state and local organizations representing the health, education, law enforcement, science, housing, workforce, transportation, and faith communities, among others—delivered a letter to Congress signed by nearly 3000 organizations urging policymakers to adopt a “balanced approach to deficit reduction that does not include further cuts to NDD programs.” Thank you to everyone who signed on, and to all of you who are working to protect federal investments in workforce development programs!

Although NDD programs support economic growth and strengthen the safety and security of every American, they account for a small—and rapidly shrinking—share of the federal budget. These programs are not the cause of our nation’s debt, but they have already borne more than their fair share of cuts.

Help us spread the message and tell policymakers that you stand behind the NDD community.
